Denim

Letterpress, Book Design

Denim was the culmination of three environmentally-conscious creatives – Elena Nerhood, Ryan Morris, and myself – in pursuit of informing a college-based audience about material overconsumption.

Touching on topics such as its environmental impact and upcycling, this handmade book explores small changes that the reader can apply to their everyday life, motivating them to reuse not only denim but other household products.

An explorative, experimental, and informational zine.
The book design involved handmade paper, handmade paper with denim scraps, colored cardstock, denim material, and printmaking paper. The color system was inspired by denim and earth tones, using creams, white, and various shades of blue to reflect the environmental theme.
